Youngsters have a fresh brain; therefore, they tend irregular to absorb what happens around them faster. Parents are said to be the first teachers in a child's life. Hence, whatever they learn or the way they behave is a reflection of their parent’s behavior & the environment they live in. And schooling will always be an important phase in their lives & has to be handled with utmost care & attention. Considering these difficult times of COVID spread & lockdown with school & learning at home. The regular pattern being changed, it is as difficult for the kids as it is for us adults or rather more difficult for them. Hence, the typical method of parenting has to make slight changes. Things being what they are frustration & stress are expected. But can be overcome with love, care, understanding, respect towards all & togetherness. Let’s dive straight into the tips on improving the situation & living a cheerful life.

1. Set a Routine

When you make decisions or are a part of the decision-making process, you become more responsible towards it & respect the happenings around you. The same is applied to the kids. Setting up a schedule will help them plan their day as well & involvement in house chores is also possible. Set up family meetings and consider their opinions, making them feel equally responsible for activities & involvement.

The kids & their parents are grown up in different time & in a different way. Therefore, they have different methods of tackling problems. Such family meetings will help you understand your child’s perspective. Thus, their involvement in in-house responsibilities is going to keep a healthy environment around the house & also keep them motivated.

2. Appreciate little things

Take note of little things as much as possible & appreciate every effort they put in. This will increase their Will to work & try again even if they fail. Appreciation & thankfulness are keys to keeping the kids motivated, be it at home or school.

3. Breaks are important

A complete day of engaging activities like attending school, homework, tuition & self-study sitting at the same place makes the kids bored and irritated. Because this is a boring way of doing our daily activities. It will make the child dull & frustrated and won’t know that life can be more fun. Hence, as responsible parents, come up with breaks & give them their me-time. This way you can also have control over screen time.

4. Reasons for rules

Rules are important and necessary. They make all of us disciplined individuals & we can live a systematic lifestyle. But, not necessarily these rules will be blindly accepted by the new generation. Hence, they need to be reasoned for them to understand its need & values. For example: Why do we need to fold clothes & keep them back in the wardrobe?

1. Cleanliness keeps a fresh environment.

2. Next time you open your closet, you find everything in its right place.

3. An organized closet can fit more clothes and other stuff.

5. Together Problem-solving

After establishing a schedule, you don’t need to always go according to it. There can be a few improvisations & let go. This might irritate or frustrate both kids & parents. Hence, there comes problem-solving, but with the involvement of both parties. Example: Parents say, you need to wake up early & exercise to stay fit. On the other hand, kids are lazy & don’t feel the need.

1. Have a family meeting.

2. Explain the reason for exercising, its plus points.

3. Ask for their inputs, if they want some other time or any other method.

4. Make a few negotiations and adjustments from your side, listen to a few things & make them accept a few.

5. Problem solved.

Covid might have locked us inside of our houses, but somewhere it has given us a great opportunity to catch up with our family at the same time. It has helped us on know that we can still have fun & happening life by sitting inside our homes. Everybody is facing a hard time, especially the kids as they are missing a very beautiful part of their life, sitting at home. Therefore, parents will have to come up with more creative ideas & ways of interaction which will help them both equally in engaging, entertaining & being motivated during these difficult times.

    There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available but the majority have the suffered alteration in that some form by injected.
